Print This Page New Layer Unit Goes Ahead
UK - Despite objections, a planning application to build a free-range poultry building for 16,000 birds in Ash Magna, Cheshire, has been approved by planners.icCheshireOnline reports that Mr A.T. Vernon applied to build the unit for egg production at dairy farm Greenfields.
The Parish Council had objected to the application on grounds of inadequate vehicular access, design, use, height and nuisance from smell.
Objectors raised concerns about highway safety, smell, pollution, noise, flies, vermin, visual amenity, drainage, lighting and the effect it may have on the neighbouring Site of Special Scientific interest (SSSI).
